The object of MacTris is simple... to survive as long as possible.
During the game, odd shaped pieces will fall from the top of the 'well' (the rectangular area in the middle of the screen). It is your goal to fit these pieces together as best possible, so as to leave a minimum of spaces between pieces.
You control the placement of the pieces by rotating them and moving them left and right while they drop. You set the keys for these controls using the Options selection on the Game menu.
Each time you complete a horizontal row with no spaces, that row disappears and leaves you more room to work in. Each screen has a set number of rows that have to be filled to complete the screen. When you have filled this many rows (the number needed is shown on the left side of the screen), you get a fresh screen; but you will need to fill more rows to clear this screen!
Once you have cleared a screen of 20 rows, the speed will increase. Once you are at speed 10 and 20 rows to clear, you keep going till you die.. which shouldn't be very long!
You can control the game's initial speed from the Options selection.
MacTris is shareware. If you keep using it beyond the one week evaluation period, you must register it by sending $10 to:
